Which playoff games are we going to watch today? All three, of course!

There are three wild-card playoff games on Sunday

Sunday’s wild-card games

The Buffalo Bills play the Jacksonville Jaguars today in the AFC Wild Card round at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, with kickoff at 12 p.m. CT and TV coverage on CBS. Jaguars enter on an eight‑game winning streak, averaging more than 19 points per game in margin and scoring at least 23 points in each of those wins. Jacksonville’s defense has forced at least one turnover in six straight games and ranks among the league’s best in run defense, allowing about 85–86 rushing yards per game, fewest in the NFL. Bills finished 12–5, winning five of their last six, but did not win the AFC East and come in as a road wild‑card team.

The NFC wild-card slate features a matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, with Philadelphia hosting as the lower seed with an 11–6 record against a 12–5 San Francisco team. Both teams come in from strong regular seasons in competitive NFC divisions, setting up a close contest on paper.

The AFC wild-card side includes the New England Patriots hosting the Los Angeles Chargers, with New England entering at 14–3 and the Chargers at 11–6, indicating a strong favorite at home but with an opponent capable of scoring in bunches.

Context from earlier wild-card games

Earlier in the weekend, the Los Angeles Rams edged the Carolina Panthers 34–31 in a high-scoring game, with Matthew Stafford throwing for over 300 yards and multiple touchdowns to push Los Angeles through. That game helped set the NFC side of the bracket that feeds into the 49ers–Eagles matchup.

The Chicago Bears also advanced by rallying past the Green Bay Packers 31–27, scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter to flip a game they had trailed most of the way, which shaped the rest of the NFC wild-card picture.
